A few photos on our first day

Sharing my Rooibos tea with the competitors in the oldest car - 1913 Ford. It was pretty cool and a bit of to begin with so they needed the warmth. They do not drink coffee but knew Rooibos!

The first oil top-up

A large 'puddle' of water. At least one car got stuck in the middle ,had to climb out and push!

99% of the "pavement specials" look like Pekinese or 'Pughs' (sp?) All have Chinese DNA!

Definitely not 'Africanus' dogs like Phiri!

We passed a lot of remains of old Great Walls. They had many of these pieces of the Great Walls in what is now called Inner Mongolia. All the ones we saw were made of mud. Mainly only the towers remain.

Passed quite a bit of farming but mostly looked a bit scrappy and not large fields. We have now seen a few small tractors but not too many. We saw one man ploughing with a donkey and a wooden plough. These small farmers seem no better off than our people in the rural areas.
